We had a great experience with Goldcar. The car we rented was new and in excellent condition. All processes, from pick-up to drop-off, were smooth, fast, and professional. We didn’t encounter any issues with the car, and the deposit refund was processed quickly.

The security deposit was a bit high at €1200 (if you don't buy the insurance, which was our case), but since we drove carefully and had no issues, it wasn’t a big concern for us. Overall, we were very satisfied with the service and would definitely consider renting from Goldcar again.

Initially was a decent experience. Received a free upgrade that I didn't ask for (I'll get onto that) and was a swift service on pick up.

Car was decent enough and I declined the insurance as I have travel insurance already with my bank which covers hire cars.

Now, on pick up which was after midnight I took a video of the car as the employee could wait to close the unit and go home. Several markers for scratches etc.

On return I took another video and checked both ensuring there was no damage (which there wasn't any new damage).

After waiting for an American family arguing for nearly 30 minutes over the equivalent of £5.50 I tried to hand the car back.

Lord behold that the worker finds a scratch/black mark under the fog light. Wasn't there prior to the 30 minutes and proved it by showing him both videos. He disputed it despite me clearly showing the timestamps of the videos.

I had to leave and get my flight and two days later I get an email advising me that the charge to fix the black mark is over £300. I disputed this but they made their minds up. Even after I provided Goldcar time stamped evidence they held firm. Then I notice that they actually took the payment the day they "discovered" the damage and not on the invoice date. Scammers. Pure and simple.

What an absolute joke of a company. Free upgrade was clearly to try and flout that they scam people.

My videos and their "proof" of the damage added for you to make your own mind up.

My advice. Stay clear of Goldcar at Krakow Airport. If you do rent from them be cautious and careful.

Very positive experience.
Car I rented was in good condition. Any pre-existing damage was clearly labelled on the documentation. Apart from that I could not find any even small scratch on the car (quite unusual these days at a rental agency).
Fast check in / check out with professional & polite staff. I had to change my check in time and called ahead and there were no issues.
Although car was small, the engine was powerful.
Price was a bit more than some other agencies, but well worth spending the extra 10eur 🙂
